Rock The Bullet 2023: Live Set In Support Of A Good Cause

On August 20, 2023, I performed a solo set of material at the Rock The Bullet Fundraiser Event on acoustic guitar. The setlist ranged from music of the 50s, 60s and 70s and also included some original material.

Love's Last Dance: Reissued?

This version of Love's Dance was written and recorded in 1989. It was not the first song I wrote, but it was the first one to be fully recorded, mixed and mastered. It actually got some radio play in 1990, which was cool.

Adam Walli (whom I worked on Sweet Maria with, as well as a few other songs that haven't been released) owned a Tascam 238 Syncaset (I think that was the model), which allowed you to record 8 tracks on a cassette. It was pretty state-of-the-art.

Sweet Maria Is Officially Released

Sweet Maria (won't you let me in), a piece of music Mitch co-wrote, performed on and produced. It can now be found on Apple MusicSpotify and Amazon Music, among other popular music streaming services. More releases coming in July and August of 2023. "Life is what happens to you,

While you're busy making other plans."

"Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" is a song written and performed by John Lennon. It was released on the 1980 album Double Fantasy.

As I've gotten older, it's always struck me just how true these words are for all of us.

Sometimes Going Forward Means Taking A Step Back....

and that can be a good thing.

Back in the 80's, I began experimenting with non-standard tunings on guitar. Some people call this alternate tuning or open tunings. It's something that guitarists have been doing for a long time and is more common than people think.

People who regularly use non-standard tunings on guitar include Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Jack White, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Son House and Robert Johnson.

Going Through The Archives

Earlier in 2017, Adam Walli was able to digitize individual tracks from music Mitch wrote, and the two of them recorded together in 1989 and 1990.

Mitch was really excited about this as most of the tracks he recorded in other small studios back then is gone forever. Recordings were lost or destroyed either through mishandling or unforeseen events.

Mitch Is Back In The Studio

After taking a break to regroup, Mitch has started going through his back catalogue looking for songs to record for an upcoming release. He's been writing more too.

So what's the plan? What's in the hopper? What is it we're working on?
